Eastern Seed Manager (Field-Based
with Regional Travel)
Are you ready to lead and shape the future of seed sales across the Eastern region? Wynnstay is seeking a commercially driven and strategic Eastern Seed Manager to oversee and grow our seed portfolio across both retail and wholesale markets.
In this high-impact role, you will maximise the financial contribution of all seed products in your region, while identifying and capitalising on new and existing market opportunities. You will be a key driver of our national growth strategy, collaborating closely with internal teams, suppliers, breeders, contract growers, and key influencers throughout the agricultural sector.
The Opportunity
As Eastern Seed Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
Driving regional seed sales and profitability across cereals, pulses, oilseeds, grass, roots, and maize.
Overseeing the daily operations of the Eastern seed business to ensure efficiency and strong performance.
Developing the small seeds and grass seed business alongside farm traders and national leads.
Planning production schedules aligned with product availability, demand, and logistics, coordinating with transport teams.
Partnering with Product Managers to create a market-focused seed portfolio that drives margin and market share growth.
Collaborating with Marketing to implement effective promotional campaigns and regional strategies.
Managing the seed product lifecycle, optimising the range to maximise customer uptake and streamline offerings.
Coordinating with the Production Manager on intake and packing operations for combinable crops.
Determining contracted seed acreage with Production, Contract, and Category Managers.
Ensuring clear communication of trading details to internal coordination and administration teams.
Setting regional pricing policy and provide technical and commercial support to customers and colleagues.
Working across divisions to maximise group-wide trading opportunities.
Monitoring and inspecting seed production crops to maintain high-quality standards.
Leading regional seed events and contributing to targeted marketing initiatives.
The Person
We are looking for a confident and knowledgeable leader with a strong understanding of the UK seed market, capable of influencing and inspiring others. The ideal candidate will have:
A degree-level qualification in agriculture (preferred).
BASIS Seed Sellers qualification (preferred).
Experience in the seed industry or a sales environment.
Fertiliser Commercial
Support – Astley
(Shrewsbury, SY4 4RT)
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Fertiliser Commercial Support to join our Fertiliser team based in Astley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and communication skills who is looking to build a rewarding career within the agricultural sector.
The Opportunity
As a key member of the Fertiliser team, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our operations. Your main responsibilities will include:
Ensuring accurate and efficient processing of fertiliser orders.
Producing timely and accurate sales reports.
Supporting sales campaigns, including outbound customer calls.
Handling incoming sales enquiries in a professional and helpful manner.
Supporting the sales team and stores with price information and enquiries.
Assisting with Wynnstay events and customer engagement activities.
Participating in training and development activities agreed with your manager.
Providing wider office support to maintain the smooth operation of the Fertiliser business.
Assisting with soil sampling and related activities as required.
The Person
The successful candidate will:
Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Have previous experience in an office or administrative role.
Be confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.
Have an interest in agriculture or fertiliser products or be keen to develop product knowledge.
Hold a FACTS qualification or be willing to work towards one.
Be adaptable and flexible, with a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
