Our Feed Division offers a full range of animal nutrition products to the agricultural market, manufacturing dairy, beef, sheep and poultry feeds from sites in Llansantffraid, Carmarthen and Holsworthy. We are looking to recruit experienced and highly motivated individuals to join our Feed Team.

Engineering Supervisor – Llansantffraid (SY22 6AQ)

Reporting directly to the National Engineering Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all mechanical and electrical equipment critical to the production of high-quality animal feed.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will:

  • Supervise the safe and effective maintenance of all electrical and mechanical equipment on site
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to breakdowns, minimising production downtime
  • Collaborate with senior managers on budgets, capital expenditure, and site planning
  • Manage supplier relationships, order spare parts, and develop preventative maintenance routines
  • Oversee contractor activities, including issuing permits and managing ongoing refurbishment projects
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory standards (e.g. UFAS) and internal policies (e.g. ladder register, equipment logs)
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders such as the Head of Milling and Production Manager – Feed Division
  • Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, following company policies and procedures
  • Participate in an on-call rota to support urgent or critical maintenance outside of core hours
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure stock levels meet operational needs
  • Use iAuditor software for inspections, maintenance tracking, and reporting

The Person

Essential

  • Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)
  • Proven experience maintaining electrical and mechanical plant/equipment
  • Experience diagnosing and rectifying breakdowns in an industrial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good IT skills for digital record-keeping
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team
  • Able to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Willing to be part of an on-call rota

Desirable

  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification
  • Experience in a feed mill or similar manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with UFAS or similar industry codes of practice
  • Experience using iAuditor or similar software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development

Mill Operator – Rhosfawr Blending Plant (LL53 6NF)

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting the whole range of Mill Operator tasks as directed by the Mill Supervisor, including operating the mill plant and machinery, some manual handling, and forklift and telehandler driving
  • Working with existing Mill staff in order to learn the core skills required
  • Effectively performing routine tasks, including a variety of cleaning duties
  • Safely working in a noisy and dusty environment
  • Assisting with both cleaning and some mechanical maintenance duties (following specific required training as deemed necessary)
  • Ensuring compliance with various quality procedures and regulations
  • Ensuring that all health and safety, and feed safety procedures are followed, and ensuring that any necessary changes in procedures are properly implemented

The Person

The successful candidate:

  • Can carry out a manual handling role, and be able to lift up to 25kg in a safe manner
  • Can drive a Counterbalance Forklift and/or Telehandler, with appropriate licence/s (desirable)
  • Able to communicate and build good customer relationships
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to demonstrate basic knowledge on agricultural products
  • Willing to work towards any specific training required for the role

Mill Operator – Carmarthen (SA31 3SG)

12 hour continental shift pattern 

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Production Planner/Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Effectively performing routine Mill Operator tasks, including a variety of cleaning duties, to support the daily operation of the Mill
  • Working safely within a noisy and dusty environment whilst operating the plant machinery
  • Carrying out quality control for raw material intake and finished product
  • Ensuring compliance with various quality procedures and regulations, including HACCP and COSH.
  • Ensuring that all health and safety, and UFAS procedures are followed, and ensuring that any necessary changes in procedures are properly implemented
  • Assisting the maintenance team with breakdowns as required
  • Operating a forklift truck whilst adhering to requisite Health and Safety standards
  • Adhering to Wynnstay policies and procedures, bringing any non-compliance issues to the attention of the Mill Production Supervisor

The Person

The successful candidate will:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Good time management skills
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to learn and take on new challenges
  • Able to drive a Counterbalance Forklift, with appropriate licence/s (training provided for a suitable candidate)
  • Inquisitive towards problem solving
  • Able/Willing to carry out simple maintenance tasks after instruction
  • Willing to work towards any specific training required for the role
  • Has an affinity with the agricultural industry

Feed Milling/Manufacturing Operative – Tamar Milling, Holsworthy (EX22 6UG)

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating a range of modern machinery, including Precision Feed Mixer, Grain Processing Equipment, Telehandler, FLT’s etc, whilst ensuring adherence to all safety standards
  • Ensuring compliance with various quality procedures and regulations
  • Ensuring that all health and safety, and feed safety procedures are followed, and ensuring that any necessary changes in procedures are properly implemented
  • Performing various warehouse duties, to include receiving goods in, dealing with related paperwork and order picking

The Person

The successful candidate will be:

  • Able to carry out a manual handling role, and be able to lift up to 25kg in a safe manner
  • Able to drive a Counterbalance Forklift and/or Telehandler, with appropriate licence/s (preferred)
  • Able to communicate and build good customer relationships
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to demonstrate basic knowledge on agricultural products
  • Willing to work towards any specific training required for the role
