Poultry Specialist – West Midlands & Welsh Borders

The Opportunity

Reporting to the National Poultry Business Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Selling poultry products to Wynnstay Humphrey Feeds and Pullets customers, providing technical advice and problem solving, offering solutions to drive performance
  • Contributing to technical articles and advertisements as and when required and updating promotional material on poultry products
  • Evaluating potential new business opportunities within the poultry sector and engaging with key industry stakeholders
  • Successfully managing complaints and debts

The Person

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a strong understanding of sales and poultry products
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Be highly motivated
  • Be able to build good business relationships with professional farmers
  • Be efficient in time management and able to work effectively on your own initiative
  • Have previous sales experience (desirable)
  • Possess a full UK driving licence (clean licence desirable)

Pullet Rearing Specialist – Southern Counties

The Opportunity

Reporting to the National Poultry Business Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting General Manager and Contract Rearing Farmers on-farm with all practical aspects of management and delivery of pullets to customers
  • Overseeing chick delivery and conducting follow up visits
  • Communicating with Contract Rearing Farmers, Vaccinators, Catching Teams, Vets and Hauliers
  • Overseeing vaccinations and loading of pullets
  • Conducting internal audits (full training provided)
  • Assisting the Sales team with follow up visits and weighing

The Person

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a basic knowledge and understanding of practical poultry production
  • Possess basic computer literacy skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel 
  • Have experience of good record keeping and attention to detail
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication and literacy skills
  • Be able to build good business relationships with professional farmers
  • Be efficient in time management and able to work effectively on your own initiative
  • Possess a full clean UK driving licence
  • Possess a trailer license (desirable)

Agricultural Sales Representative - Office-based at Astley (Shrewsbury)

Location: Astley (Shrewsbury)

Monday-Friday – 8.30am-5.00pm

  • Has sales or telesales experience or understanding (full training will be provided).

  • Experienced with IT systems with strong numeracy and literacy skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist support and advice to ruminant livestock farmer customers on all aspects of forage, fertiliser planning, variety selection, and grain procurement within the designated region
  • Trading forage products including agrochemicals, fertiliser, seed (cereal, forage, maize, cover crops etc.), silage additive and grain
  • Developing and generating business for Wynnstay in collaboration with other key sales personnel
  • Promoting service offerings available including soil sampling and testing, Nutrient Management Planning and advice for farm compliance purposes
  • Marketing and promoting Wynnstay to increase brand awareness
  • Participating in marketing and product management campaigns
  • Producing weekly activity and sales reports
  • Participating in various training and development activities as required

The Person

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in combinable crop seed/forage, fertiliser and ag chemicals (preferable but not essential)
  • Be BASIS and FACTS qualified (preferable)
  • Possess sales skills and experience
  • Be able to build good business relationships with professional farmers
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be self-motivated and able to use own initiative
  • Be able to demonstrate strong accuracy levels and proficiency in using IT systems
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours
  • Possess a full clean UK driving license
