Our Sales Specialists work closely with their customers to provide products, services and specialist advice to meet the unique needs of their farm. We have a number of opportunities for enthusiastic, hard-working and driven individuals to join our sales teams in various locations throughout our trading area.
Sales Specialist – Pembrokeshire
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Sales Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing technical advice and problem solving on-farm, offering solutions to drive performance
- Growing and developing sales of Wynnstay’s agricultural products and services, including feed and feed-related products, arable inputs, animal health and hardware
- Achieving or exceeding targets relating to sales, volumes and margins
- Gaining new business for Wynnstay while successfully maintaining your existing customer base
- Providing input into the regional annual budget, projecting sales and determining profitability
- Fully utilising the Sales Support/CRM function, to monitor customer and sales trends for determining key accounts and future sales strategies
- Collaborating with other key sales channels within the business, including Wynnstay Depots and other field sales team members, to maximise returns from group trading activities
- Promoting Wynnstay as a company and increasing brand awareness to customers
- Participating in marketing and product management campaigns
The Person
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be agriculturally commercial aware
- Be highly motivated
- Have a strong understanding of sales and feed/agricultural products
- Be able to build good business relationships with professional farmers
- Be efficient in time management and able to work effectively on your own initiative
- Have previous sales experience (desirable)
- Possess a full clean UK driving license

Forage Sales Specialist – Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing specialist support and advice to ruminant livestock farmer customers on all aspects of forage, fertiliser planning, variety selection, and grain procurement within the designated region
- Selling forage products including fertiliser, seed (cereal, forage, maize, cover crops etc.), silage additive, agrochemicals and grain
- Promoting service offerings available including soil sampling and testing, Nutrient Management Planning and advice for farm compliance purposes
- Providing technical support to the wider sales team on forage products when required to reach budget figures
- Developing and generating business for Wynnstay in collaboration with other key sales personnel
- Marketing and promoting Wynnstay to increase brand awareness
- Participating in marketing and product management campaigns
- Producing weekly activity and sales reports
- Participating in various training and development activities as required
The Person
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience in combinable crop seed/forage, fertiliser and ag chemicals (preferable but not essential)
- Be BASIS and FACTS qualified (preferable)
- Possess sales skills and experience
- Be able to build good business relationships with professional farmers
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be self-motivated and able to use own initiative
- Be able to demonstrate strong accuracy levels and proficiency in using IT systems
- Have a flexible approach to working hours
- Possess a full clean UK driving license

Head of Arable Technical

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Sales and Marketing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the regional arable technical specialists to deliver the regional and national budgets for arable products
- Embedding soil health as part of Wynnstay’s commercial offering through innovation and a succinct sales proposition
- Further developing the sales teams knowledge of soil health by engaging in training events
- Providing technical knowledge and support to ruminant farmer customers and supporting the sales teams in the field
- Understanding legislation regarding inputs
- Driving growth in arable related products, including fertilisers, seeds and agronomy
- Leading the delivery of Nutrient Management Plans to Wynnstay customers
- Collaborating with other technical departments e.g. Dairy Technical, Beef and Sheep, Youngstock and Hardware to provide complementary soil and forage messaging and solutions to customers
The Person
The successful candidate will:
- Have a well-developed understanding of the Arable and Agricultural industry, along with an affinity for the farmer customer
- Be FACTs and BASIS qualified
- Demonstrate a proven track record in similar role or at the level of National Technical or Sales Manager
- Possess good commercial acumen, have experience of cost control and planning, be able to meet targets
- Be a lateral, innovative thinker, and problem-solver
- Be a motivational team-leader focused on managing, supporting and developing the team to achieve potential
- Be self-disciplined, with excellent time management skills, and flexible in order to achieve results
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be self-confident
