Reporting to the Regional Business Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Overall financial performance of the stores, utilising financial reports to exceed budget sales, net margin, stock targets and contribution

Creating a store / profit improvement plan in each financial year

Working with other teams to ensure consistent product availability, creating storage solutions in preparation for peak seasons, and minimising distribution costs to stores
Weekly performance discussions with Store Managers
Ensuring all stores are staffed to acceptable levels across the area during trading hours
Site Health & Safety, compliance and environmental matters, including fire safety, site security, staff welfare, accident reporting, and First Aid
Ensuring adherence to all operational policies and procedures, including efficient stock management and cash/credit practices
Keeping abreast with a constantly changing industry, anticipating market trends, competitive threats, and commercial opportunities

The successful candidate:
Able to demonstrate sound business management acumen, excellent communication skills and experience of trade dealings with farmer customers
Strong understanding of Store systems, agricultural product offering, sales and trade, and site operations requirements

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing the Animal Health and Dairy Hygiene product categories and ensuring all objectives and targets set are being met, to achieve delivery of annual agreed budgets
Leading your category to ensure full understanding of the market and customer to identify the strongest range and supplier options to maximise our financial return
To constantly seek out potential new suppliers globally to enable points of differentiation, innovation, improved relationships with a focus on the products that offer the most growth potential
To proactively drive collaboration with marketing, technical leads and all routes to market (stores, field sales, telesales and online) by leading the product proposition and promotion including data sheets, events, customer and prospect communication, etc for both retail and wholesale options as required
Reviewing current product branding activity to increase brand awareness and value
Working with the distribution team to ensure cost effective customer delivery
Providing input into the annual budgeting process
Offering, coordinating and evaluating product and SQP training to Wynnstay retail and sales teams
Successfully managing complaints

Proven track record in similar role or at the level of Category Manager, preferably in an agricultural capacity

Monday-Friday (8.30am-5.00pm) plus Saturday (8.30am-12.00pm) on a rota basis
The Opportunity
As part of the Wadebridge Store team, your main responsibilities will include:
Supervising and performing various warehouse duties, including order picking, recording and checking stock, collating paperwork and yard picking
Loading company and customer orders into vehicles and preparing orders to be delivered directly to farms
Operating a forklift truck whilst adhering to requisite Health and Safety standards
Servicing customers, delivery drivers and company sales representatives providing support and advice where qualified, in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
Placing all incoming goods in an organised and efficient manner, and identifying stock anomalies and taking appropriate action
Storing chemicals and hazardous goods in the correct manner
Participating in any duties in the interests of Health & Safety, including COSHH compliance, Spillage clean-up, and safe manual handling
The Person
The successful candidate will be:
Able to carry out a manual handling role, and be able to lift 25kg in a safe manner
Able to drive a Counterbalance Forklift, with appropriate licence/s (Training may be provided for a suitable candidate)
Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
Able to memorise stock locations
An experienced Warehouse Operative with supervisory level experience (desirable)
Professional towards supporting customers needs
Able to demonstrate previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment
