Callum is currently on a 12 month placement with the Wynnstay dairy team from Harper Adams University. At university, he is studying a 4 year course in Agriculture with Animal Science, offering a broad scope of agricultural modules. Although not from a farming background, Callum has a keen passion for dairy nutrition and aims to bring new and innovate ideas to the industry.
Whilst on placement with Wynnstay, Callum has completed his FAR training as well as Cow Signals training to develop his skills. Callum is really enjoying his placement and has been involved with different projects including assessing the impact of mycotoxins on dairy cows for the 2024 maize harvest and carbon foot-printing feeds.
Matt is Lincolnshire born and bred; he grew up in a family involved in different parts of the agricultural industry and farming. He studied Agriculture and Advanced Crop production at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. Prior to this, he worked for Syngenta as a harvest student for many years as well as during his university work placement. Once achieving his degree, went on to start at Woodheads Seeds (owned by Wynnstay) in 2013 as Assistant Seed manager, later becoming Seed Manager.
Matt left Wynnstay between 2015 and 2024. He had several sales & management roles at Limagrain UK, a leading global plant breeder, latterly being Commercial Manager for the business across cereals, oilseeds, maize and forage crops.
We are now pleased to have Matt back at Wynnstay in 2024 as Head of Seed for the national business, looking after the seed strategy and driving the sales growth and market position of Wynnstay forward.
Having grown up as a city girl, Meg joined us in March 2023 as Seed Co-Ordination Supervisor and has drawn on her background in logistics, exports, and administration as well as her new experiences living out in the countryside.
Having previously completed a Level 3 Diploma In ICT Systems and Principles for IT Professionals, going on to complete a Level 3 Diploma in It Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals and various Microsoft Technology Associate assessments, she's also handy when it comes to any IT issues!
Meg is responsible for all grass and root seed administration and coordination, managing the production of grass seed mixtures, as well as handling seed enquiries from customers, the Wynnstay Sales Team and Wynnstay Retail Stores.
Imogen joined Wynnstay on the sales desk in November 2022, she’s since moved over to the seed department as a seed sales specialist in summer 2023.
She joined Wynnstay after graduating from Newcastle University with a 2:1 studying Animal Science in 2022. Throughout the course she studied animal nutrition, forage utilization and grassland establishment and management among other topics. During the summer and winter breaks, she gained experience working on farms, including arable, poultry and dairy farms.
Her main responsibilities at Wynnstay include cereal, grass and root crop sales, dealing with customer enquiries, and aiding the Wynnstay sales team and stores.
Hannah has been passionate about farming from young age, after watching her parents and grandparents run a dairy farm. Unfortunately, the farm lost their small herd of cows to TB but Hannah has not let that stop her from progressing in the agricultural industry.
Hannah studied Agriculture at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, whilst relief milking on a dairy farm close to home in north Herefordshire, during college holidays and weekends. She was then successfully awarded the Richard Wigram scholarship to work on a kiwi style, 400 cow spring block dairy farm in the North Island, near Hamilton. This is where she learned a substantial amount about grazing management, and the day to day running of the farm.
For 5 years, Hannah has been in charge of rearing youngstock on a farm in South Herefordshire, giving her firsthand knowledge of the problems that may arise within calf and youngstock management, and solutions that are associated with it.
Hannah will be covering the counties of Shropshire, Gloucestershire, and Worcestershire (South Midlands) and will be providing technical advice and promoting sales related to her clients.
With a keen passion for farming and agriculture, Lily went to Harper Adams University to study Bioveterinary Science and graduated in 2021. During her time there, she worked on a 1000 cow dairy farm in Shropshire where she was milking and rearing calves. Since leaving Harper, Lily joined a large veterinary practice in Shropshire as a Veterinary Technician with her main interests being calf health and optimising performance.
Lily then went travelling to Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Singapore. She stayed in NZ for 3 months where she assisted with a spring calving season, calf rearing and milking on a unit of 1000 Fleckveigh cattle.
Now living between North Wales and Cheshire, Lily will be covering areas in the North Midlands, Cheshire, Derbyshire Staffordshire and Lancashire. She will be providing farmers with advice on milk powders, calf feeds and other calf related products to help maximise health and performance within the herd..
