Wynnstay Group Plc, a progressive UK business supporting sustainable agriculture, has announced the opening of its new Humphrey Pullets office at Northfields House, Northfields, Twyford alongside a significant expansion of its pullet rearing operations, marking a further step in the Group’s strategic growth in the poultry sector.
The new facility will act as a dedicated hub for Wynnstay’s poultry operations, bringing together expertise in pullet rearing, technical support, and customer engagement. The investment is complemented by a substantial increase in pullet capacity, delivering a significant percentage uplift in production capability and further strengthening the Group’s integrated offering across the poultry supply chain.
This latest development reinforces Wynnstay’s ambition to build a more connected, end-to-end proposition for poultry producers, pullet supply, spanning feed, and technical advice, supporting flock performance from rearing through to peak lay.
Wynnstay already operates as a major participant in the UK poultry sector through its integrated Humphrey Feeds & Pullets business, supplying feed and pullets to a significant proportion of the market, including a notable share of free-range and premium egg production.
The expansion sits within a UK agricultural sector that remains an important part of the rural economy, contributing significantly to both food production and wider economic activity. The sector has seen steady growth in recent years, underpinned by consistent consumer demand for high-quality, affordable food. Production levels remain strong across the industry, while demand continues to be supported by value, versatility and evolving consumer preferences. At the same time, there has been a gradual shift towards higher-welfare production systems, with free-range eggs representing a growing proportion of output and retail sales. Overall, the sector continues to evolve, with a focus on efficiency, sustainability and meeting changing consumer expectations.
Alk Brand, Chief Executive Officer of Wynnstay Group Plc, said:
“Today’s announcement represents an important milestone in the continued evolution of Wynnstay. Our investment in the Humphrey Pullets office and the expansion of our pullet operations demonstrates our clear ambition to grow our presence in the poultry sector.
By strengthening our capability in pullet rearing and integrating this more closely with our feed and advisory services, we are building a more comprehensive and joined-up offer for our customers. This is a sector where we see strong, sustainable long-term opportunity, and we are committed to supporting producers with the expertise and infrastructure they need to succeed.”
The poultry sector remains a key growth area within Wynnstay’s Strategy Genesis programme, with a focus on expanding volumes, enhancing technical support, and delivering greater integration across the value chain. By aligning pullet rearing with tailored feed programmes and advisory services, the Group aims to improve customer performance outcomes while driving long-term growth and value creation.
Rob Williams, Commercial Manager – Poultry, Wynnstay Group Plc commented:
“This investment represents a significant step forward in how we support poultry producers. Increasing our pullet capacity, alongside establishing a dedicated operational hub, strengthens both our scale and capability.
It allows us to further integrate our offering, connecting pullet supply with nutrition, health, and performance expertise, so we can support customers more consistently and effectively across the full lifecycle of their flocks.”
The opening of the Humphrey Pullets office and the associated expansion programme form part of Wynnstay’s broader plans to increase its focus on poultry, with further updates and insights expected over the coming months as the Group continues to build its presence in this growing and evolving market.
