Wynnstay Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Oliver as Director of Buying, a newly created position within the Store & Buying Division, reporting to Steve Collard, Managing Director of Retail.
The appointment reflects the strategic importance of the Buying function in supporting Wynnstay’s long-term growth ambitions through Genesis and strengthening the Group’s ability to deliver exceptional value, service and expertise to customers across the UK.
Mark joined Wynnstay in March 2025 and has successfully led the Group’s store network. Prior to joining Wynnstay, he built an impressive career spanning more than 30 years across the agricultural sector, including 10 years with Gallagher Europe BV and 22 years with Countrywide Farmers plc. In his new role, Mark will bring together the key areas of Buying and lead initiatives designed to strengthen Wynnstay’s customer proposition. His focus will include enhancing product sourcing and supplier partnerships, increasing the use of data and technology, improving stock and working capital management, and ensuring customers continue to benefit from the breadth, quality and value of Wynnstay’s offering.
Steve Collard, Managing Director of Retail, commented: “Mark has made a significant contribution to the success of our store network and has developed a strong understanding of our customers, operations and wider business. As we continue to deliver our growth ambitions through Genesis, Buying has an increasingly important role to play in strengthening our customer proposition, driving efficiency and creating value across the Group. Mark’s experience, commercial insight and leadership make him ideally placed to lead this agenda, and I am delighted to see him take on this important role.”
Commenting on his appointment, Mark Oliver said: “I am delighted to be taking on this new role at such an exciting time for Wynnstay. We have a strong platform to build upon, and I look forward to working closely with colleagues and supplier partners to strengthen our offering, make greater use of data and technology, and help deliver the next phase of growth for the business through Genesis.”
